Introduction to Meditation

The topics covered in this course lead to a deeper understanding of the self, the intrinsic positive qualities and innate values. In time, this understanding becomes a natural part of our day to day awareness, constructively influencing how we see our self and how we relate to your world.

In the process of exploring these universal concepts in the privacy of our own inner world through meditation, one comes to a first hand awareness of the inter-connectedness of the human family and the rights, roles and responsibilities of individuals. This is very important in our spiritual development and will give a fresh perspective on values such as justice, freedom, respect and love.

Simple and honest effort is the only pre-requisites for success in meditation. “You are what you think,” this simple but accurate statement indicates that what we say, what we do, and what we feel – all have their origin in the mind. The energy of  the human mind is one of the greatest, but least understood energy resources of the universe. Most of an iceberg lies beneath the water. The direction of the water current is what moves the iceberg not the breeze on the surface. As a leader if we try to manage behavior whilst ignoring personal values, beliefs, identities, attitudes and perceptions which lie beneath and influence the behaviors, we will never be effective at managing ourselves and others. To truly be among leaders in the new paradigm we have to look below the surface, we have to learn to lead from within; to be stable and navigate through all types of currents.
